Terms and Conditions

1. Acceptance of these terms

By using Ready to Apply™ ("the Service", "we", "us"), you agree to these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. By using it, you confirm that you are. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we learn that a user is under 18 we may terminate access and delete the associated analysis. If you believe someone under 18 has submitted information, please contact us and we will delete it.

2. What the Service does

Ready to Apply compares a resume against a job description and returns a Job Fit Score with the evidence behind it; Resume Optimization — and, where your score qualifies, a complete rewritten version of your resume that you can edit and download; and Interview PREP questions and preparation material.

All of it is generated by an artificial intelligence system from the two documents you provide. It is a starting point, not a verified statement of fact.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". Scores, suggestions, rewritten resumes and interview content may be incomplete, out of date or wrong. They are not a guarantee of an interview, a job offer, or any outcome in your job search.

The rewritten resume is a draft for you to check. We assemble it from your own resume and the job description. We do not verify that anything in it is true, current, or accurate about you. Read it before you send it.

3. Your documents, AI processing, and what we keep

By submitting a resume or job description, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to process those documents in order to produce your results. We do not use your documents to train AI models, and we do not sell or share them for advertising.

Your documents are sent to a third-party AI provider. To produce your results, the text of your resume and job description is transmitted to an external artificial intelligence provider outside Ready to Apply, and processed on their systems. We currently use Anthropic. By using the Service, you consent to this transmission and processing. If you do not consent, do not submit documents. Their handling of that data is governed by their own terms and privacy policy, which we do not control.

What we keep, and for how long:

  • Your resume or job description file, and its full text — not kept. Sent for analysis and discarded.
  • Your analysis — the score, reasoning, recommendations, and the passages it quotes from your resume. Stored in our database, linked to your device and never to your name, for 12 months, then deleted.
  • The rewritten resume you edit, and your edits — stored in your own browser only, for 24 hours from your last edit.
  • Device and usage records — rolling 30 days, for free-credit limits and abuse prevention.
  • Payment records — as financial and tax law requires.

Your analysis quotes you. It has to: showing you a better version of a bullet means printing your bullet next to it. Those quotations are stored with the analysis for the 12 months above, and go when it goes.

We never store your resume as a document. The complete rewritten resume exists only in your browser. If you clear your browser data, switch devices, or leave it 24 hours, it is gone and we cannot recover it. Download it.

You may ask us to delete your analysis before its 12-month retention ends — contact us with the link to the analysis. We cannot delete the rewritten resume held in your own browser (clear your browser's site data), and we cannot recall anything you have already downloaded or sent. Full detail is in our Privacy Policy.

4. The Service is for your own job search only

Ready to Apply is a tool for an individual assessing their own candidacy. It is not a hiring tool, a screening tool, or an assessment tool, and it must not be used as one.

You may not use the Service, or its output:

  • to evaluate, screen, rank, shortlist or reject any other person as a candidate for employment;
  • as an input to any hiring, promotion, or personnel decision about another person;
  • on behalf of an employer, recruiter, staffing agency or hiring platform in connection with assessing candidates.

The scores, flags and recommendations the Service produces are not validated for assessing anyone other than the person whose resume is submitted, by that person, about their own application. They have not been audited for bias and are not designed, tested or offered for use in employment decision-making about third parties.

If you use the Service in breach of this section you do so entirely at your own risk and on your own responsibility, and you indemnify us in full for any resulting claim — including any claim brought by a person you assessed.

5. Your responsibility before you send anything to an employer

  • You are the author of what you send. A resume you download from this Service and submit to an employer is your representation about your own background. It is not ours.
  • You must check it before you use it — every date, title, employer, credential, number and claim. We generate from what you gave us and we cannot know whether what you gave us was right.
  • We do not check your edits. You can change any part of the rewritten resume. Anything you write is yours alone. We do not review it, verify it, or vouch for it, and the integrity statement shown with your results does not cover it.
  • You are solely responsible for any statement you make to an employer, recruiter or anyone else using material from the Service, including any consequence of a statement that turns out to be inaccurate, incomplete or misleading.

We are not your reference and we do not vouch for you. The integrity statement shown with your results describes only what we wrote from the evidence in your own documents. It is not a verification of your background, not an endorsement, and must not be presented to an employer as either. Nothing in the Service creates any agency, partnership or employment relationship between you and us, and you must not represent that Ready to Apply has checked, verified, endorsed or approved you or your resume.

6. What you promise us

By using the Service you confirm that:

  • the documents you submit are yours, or you have permission from the person they belong to;
  • the information in them is true and accurate to the best of your knowledge;
  • you will not use the Service to create or send anything false or misleading about anyone's qualifications, including your own;
  • you are using it for your own genuine job search, not on behalf of a business reselling the output.

7. Documents about other people

If you submit a resume or any document containing another person's personal information, you confirm that you have that person's informed consent for it to be submitted, processed by the Service, transmitted to our third-party AI provider, and retained as described in section 3.

You are the party responsible for obtaining that consent. We rely on your confirmation that you have it. You indemnify us in full against any claim, complaint or regulatory proceeding brought by a person whose information you submitted without their consent, including any investigation under the Personal Information Protection Act (British Columbia) or the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (Canada).

If a person tells us their information was submitted without their consent, we may delete the associated analysis without notice to you.

8. Confidential and restricted material

You must not submit material you are not permitted to disclose, including anything subject to a confidentiality agreement, non-disclosure agreement, employment obligation, professional duty of confidence, or legal restriction.

Remember that submitting a document to the Service transmits it to a third-party AI provider (section 3). If you are not permitted to disclose it to a third party, you are not permitted to submit it here.

Do not submit government-classified information, protected health information, or anyone's financial account details. You are responsible for what you submit and you indemnify us for any claim arising from material you were not entitled to disclose.

9. Credentials, licenses and regulated occupations

The Service never adds a qualification, license, certification or credential that is not already evidenced in the resume you submit. Any credential appearing in your downloaded resume that you did not already hold was added by you.

You must not use the Service to claim, imply or support a professional license, registration, certification, security clearance or academic qualification you do not hold. This is particularly serious in regulated occupations — including healthcare, engineering, law, accounting, aviation, childcare, education, financial services, and any occupation requiring a license to practise — where a false claim may be a criminal offence and may put other people at risk.

You are solely responsible for every credential stated in any document you send. We do not verify credentials and cannot.

10. How scoring works, and what it is not

The Service scores a resume against the requirements stated in the job description you supply. It is not designed to evaluate a person, and no score is a judgment about you.

The Service is not a validated assessment instrument. It has not been audited for adverse impact and must not be relied on as objective, complete, or free from the limitations of AI systems generally, which can reflect patterns present in the data they were trained on.

A low score means the documents you supplied did not evidence the requirements stated. It does not mean you are unqualified, and it is not a statement about you as a person. The Service produces information for your own use. It makes no decision about you and no decision about anyone else.

11. Shared devices

The rewritten resume and your edits are stored in the browser you used, for up to 24 hours, so your work survives a page reload. On a shared or public computer, another person using the same browser may be able to see it.

If you use a shared device, download what you need and clear your browser's site data before you finish. We cannot clear it for you — it never reaches us.

12. Credits and payments

  • Free credits: 3 credits reset every 30 days from first use. No account required.
  • Paid credits: one-time purchases processed via Stripe. Credits are added immediately upon confirmed payment.
  • Credit burn order: free credits are always consumed before paid credits.
  • Paid credits never expire.
  • 1 credit = 1 analysis (Job Fit Score, Resume Optimization, or Interview PREP).
  • Pricing: see our pricing page for current rates. We reserve the right to change pricing at any time, but changes will not affect credits already purchased.
  • Payment processing: all payments are securely processed through Stripe. We do not store your payment information.
  • Taxes: applicable taxes may be added based on your location. You are responsible for any taxes associated with your purchase.
  • Promotions and discounts: promotional codes cannot be combined with other offers and are subject to the terms stated at the time of the promotion.
  • Non-transferable: credits are non-transferable and have no cash value.

13. Refund policy

Ready to Apply does not offer refunds on purchased credits.

Every user starts with 3 free credits, renewed every 30 days, with no payment required. These credits are provided specifically so you can evaluate the product before spending anything. Purchasing credits is an informed decision made after you have already used the Service.

When you purchase a credit pack, credits are delivered immediately and are available for use right away. Because the product is digital and delivery is instant, we are unable to offer refunds for change of mind, unused credits, or results that did not meet your expectations.

If you were charged in error — for example, a duplicate transaction or a technical failure during checkout — please contact us within 7 days and we will resolve it promptly. This section is subject to section 20: where consumer protection law gives you a cancellation right that cannot be excluded, that right applies regardless of what this section says.

14. Chargebacks

Credits are delivered immediately and are consumed as you use them. If you initiate a chargeback or payment dispute after credits have been delivered, we may suspend access and forfeit any remaining balance while the dispute is resolved. We will provide the payment processor with records of delivery and use. Nothing in this section affects a genuine billing error — contact us and we will fix it (section 13).

15. Things you may not do

You agree not to:

  • use the Service to generate false or fabricated resume content;
  • alter output from the Service so that it is no longer true, and then send it to an employer or anyone else;
  • submit documents belonging to another person without their consent;
  • attempt to circumvent credit limits or abuse the free tier;
  • reverse engineer, scrape, or automate requests to the Service;
  • resell or commercially exploit the Service or its outputs without our prior written consent;
  • use the Service in any manner that violates applicable law.

16. Personal use, and what we may do about abuse

The Service is licensed to you, for your own job search. You may not resell it, provide it as a service to others, use it as a component of another product, or run it on behalf of clients, whether paid or not. You may not access the Service by automated means, or submit volumes inconsistent with one person's job search.

We may suspend or terminate access, and decline to serve any person, at our discretion and without notice or refund, where we reasonably believe these Terms have been breached. Credits associated with a terminated account are forfeited.

17. Who owns what

Your documents and your results are yours. We claim no ownership of your resume, your job description, or the rewritten resume you download. Use it however you like.

The Service is ours. The software, prompts, scoring methodology, design and brand remain our property. Nothing here grants you a license to them beyond using the Service as intended.

18. Statements about third parties

Analysis output is generated by an AI system from the documents you supply. Any reference to a company, employer or third party is generated content, not a statement of fact by Ready to Apply, and must not be represented as our opinion, research or verification of that organisation. The Service is for your own use. If you choose to publish or share output that refers to a third party, you do so on your own responsibility.

19. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Ready to Apply and its operator from any claim, demand, loss or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of: documents you submit to the Service; material from the Service that you send to an employer or any third party; your breach of these Terms; or your violation of any law or of anyone else's rights.

20. Availability and limitation of liability

We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, with or without notice. We do not promise that the Service will be available, uninterrupted, timely, secure or error-free.

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service;
  • we are not liable for any employment outcome, including not being interviewed, not being hired, or any consequence of an application;
  • we are not liable for the accuracy of AI-generated content, or for anything you send to a third party using material from the Service;
  • we are not liable for the acts or omissions of third-party providers, including the AI provider, our payment processor, and our hosting providers;
  • we are not liable for loss of data, including a rewritten resume you did not download before it expired from your browser.

Our total liability to you, for any and all claims, will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) CAD $50.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any right or remedy you have under applicable consumer protection law that cannot lawfully be excluded, including under British Columbia's Business Practices and Consumer Protection Act. Where any part of these Terms conflicts with such a right, that right applies and the rest of these Terms continue in force.

21. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. You agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of British Columbia, subject to any consumer protection law that gives you the right to bring a claim where you live.

22. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be noted by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the revised Terms.

23. Third-party services and links

The Service relies on third parties, including our AI provider, our payment processor (Stripe), and our hosting and infrastructure providers. Their handling of your data is governed by their own terms and privacy policies, which we do not control. Where the Service links to a third-party site, we are not responsible for its content, accuracy or practices.

24. Feedback, and anonymized data

If you send us feedback, a suggestion or an idea about the Service, you agree we may use it without restriction, obligation or compensation to you. Please do not send us anything you consider confidential.

We may compile aggregated and anonymized statistics about how the Service is used — for example, how many analyses run in a month, or how scores are distributed. This information does not identify you and is not derived from the content of your resume. We do not use your documents to train AI models.

25. Copyright complaints

If you believe material on the Service infringes your copyright, please contact us with a description of the work, where the material appears, your contact details, and a statement that you believe in good faith that the use is unauthorized. We will review and respond, and may remove material or restrict access while we do.

26. Events outside our control

We are not liable for any failure or delay caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including outages at our hosting, AI or payment providers, network failures, cyber-attack, power failure, natural disaster, industrial action, or government action.

27. Notices, waiver, assignment, and corrections

  • Electronic communications. By using the Service you consent to receive communications from us electronically, and agree that electronic notices satisfy any legal requirement that a communication be in writing.
  • No waiver. If we do not enforce a provision of these Terms, that is not a waiver of it, and we may enforce it later.
  • Assignment. You may not assign or transfer these Terms. We may assign them, including to a successor in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of the business.
  • Corrections. The Service may contain typographical errors, inaccuracies or omissions, including in pricing and descriptions. We may correct these and update information at any time without prior notice.

28. If part of this is unenforceable

If any provision is found unenforceable, it is severed and the remainder stays in force. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service.

Sections 5, 6, 17, 19 and 20 survive any termination of your access to the Service.
